Water treatment and environmental services across the GCC

Whether water is leaving a site or feeding a process, it has to meet the standard. ACTION designs, installs and operates water treatment across the GCC, from suspended solids (TSS) treatment and groundwater remediation to reverse osmosis, desalination, industrial wastewater and produced water. We assess what’s in the water, engineer the treatment and verify the treated water against the discharge permit, reuse or supply specification, with a clear record to prove it.

Treatment often sits at the end of work ACTION already runs: the groundwater our dewatering systems pump, the test water from pipelines we pre-commission, the water that comes out of shutdowns. We design the treatment alongside that work, and one team runs both, with treatment units from our own fleet, prepared in our own workshops.

Treatment starts with analysis of the source water. Our engineers select the process for its chemistry, its solids loading and the output required, combining physical, chemical and biological stages where needed. Our crews then stay with the system for as long as the water keeps coming.

What Environmental services does ACTION provide?

From suspended solids to produced water, ACTION delivers six specialist environmental services across the GCC. Each is designed in-house and delivered with our own treatment fleet and crews. Take one service or combine several into a treatment train under one contract, with one team accountable from water analysis to verified result.

Desalination & Reverse Osmosis

Seawater and groundwater treated to the quality the job needs.

Remote sites, process plants and injection programmes all need water of a set quality, and often the only source is seawater or brackish groundwater.

ACTION supplies and operates containerised reverse osmosis plants, for hire or sale, treating seawater, groundwater or treated effluent to the required supply, process or injection water quality. Our brackish water units produce up to 1,500 m³ of permeate a day, and our seawater units up to 900 m³ a day.

Suspended Solids Treatment

Silt and sediment out before the water goes anywhere.

Dewatering discharge, test water and process water often carry more suspended solids (TSS) than a permit allows. ACTION removes them with lamella clarifiers, bag and disc filters, settling basins, silt curtains and geotextile tubes, selected for particle size, density and loading. Bag filter units filter down to 0.1 micron, and automatic back-flushing filters handle up to 1,000 m³/h.

Where the water comes from a dewatering system, treatment picks up where the settlement tanks on our Construction sites[DI1.1] leave off.

Groundwater Remediation

Contaminated groundwater treated to the site’s requirement.

Groundwater recovered during dewatering or remediation works can be contaminated. ACTION treats it to the discharge requirement for the site, with the treatment train designed around what the analysis finds.

Phase Separation

Oil recovered ahead of further treatment.

Where oil and water are mixed, the oil has to come out first. ACTION separates them with gravity and forced methods, including plate interceptors, cyclonic separators, drum skimmers and oil booms, recovering oil ahead of further treatment.

Industrial Treatment

Designed around the chemistry of each stream.

Industrial wastewater varies from one plant, and one stream, to the next. ACTION designs treatment for industrial wastewater, from emulsified oil to heavy metals, around the chemistry of each stream, and runs it to the discharge or reuse specification.

Produced Water & Waste Water Treatment

Treated for disposal or re-injection.

Produced water comes up with oil and gas and has to be treated before it is disposed of or re-injected. ACTION treats produced water and wastewater using induced gas flotation, walnut shell filters, electro-coagulation and UV sterilisation, as the stream requires.

How we work

How does ACTION deliver water treatment?

One team. From analysis to verified result.
Every scope starts with the water, the volume and the standard it has to meet.

  • Consult
We get involved early, while the treatment approach can still shape the plan. If there isn’t enough water quality data to design on, we say so and recommend the sampling that’s needed.

  • Engineer
Our engineers analyse the water, select the process and size each stage for the flow and the standard. Our workshop prepares and tests the treatment units to match.

  • Deliver
Our own crews install, commission and operate the system for as long as the job needs it. All work runs under our ISO 14001-certified environmental management system and ISO 45001-certified safety management system.

  • Control
Our engineers sample and test the treated water against the discharge permit, reuse or supply specification. When the job is done, we decommission the system and hand over the full record.

Across all four stages, AURA brings connected assets into one operating picture and flags exceptions against limits set by our engineers. Our engineers decide and act.

FAQ’s

Water Treatment: frequently asked questions

Not finding what you are looking for? Let us help.

Does ACTION work beyond water treatment?2026-10-30T08:42:43+00:00

Yes. ACTION works across construction, oil and gas, industrial, municipal and marine projects throughout the GCC, with seven service lines: Construction, Pipeline & Process, Industrial, Municipal, Environmental, Marine & Offshore, and Rental & Sales.

Where does ACTION provide water treatment?2026-10-30T08:42:09+00:00

ACTION provides water treatment across the GCC, in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait, from a regional network of depots and crews.

Is ACTION certified for environmental management?2026-10-30T08:41:36+00:00

Yes. ACTION is certified to ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management, alongside ISO 9001:2015 for quality and ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety.

Can ACTION treat produced water?2026-10-30T08:41:01+00:00

Yes. ACTION treats produced water for disposal or re-injection, using induced gas flotation, walnut shell filters, electro-coagulation and UV sterilisation as the stream requires.

What is phase separation?2026-10-30T08:40:21+00:00

Phase separation splits a mixed stream, such as oil, water and solids, into its parts so each can be treated, reused or disposed of correctly. ACTION uses plate interceptors, cyclonic separators, drum skimmers and oil booms.

Can I hire a reverse osmosis unit?2026-10-30T08:39:49+00:00

Yes. ACTION hires and sells containerised reverse osmosis units, with brackish water units producing up to 1,500 m³ of permeate a day and seawater units up to 900 m³ a day. ACTION can also operate them.

How is dewatering discharge treated?2026-10-30T08:39:06+00:00

Pumped groundwater usually carries suspended solids and can carry contaminants. ACTION removes solids with settlement tanks, clarifiers and filtration sized to the flow and the discharge permit, and adds further treatment where analysis shows it is needed.

What discharge standard does treated water need to meet?2026-10-30T08:38:23+00:00

It depends on the site, the receiving environment, the regulator and whether the water is discharged, reused, supplied or re-injected. ACTION designs the treatment to the specification that applies and tests the treated water against it..

Can ACTION treat the water from its own dewatering or pipeline work?2026-10-30T08:37:52+00:00

Yes. ACTION designs treatment alongside its dewatering, pipeline pre-commissioning and shutdown work, so the water those scopes produce is treated to the discharge or reuse specification under the same contract, by the same team.

What environmental services does ACTION provide?2026-10-30T08:36:38+00:00

ACTION provides desalination and reverse osmosis, suspended solids treatment, groundwater remediation, phase separation, industrial treatment, and produced water and wastewater treatment across the GCC. ACTION designs, installs and operates the treatment and verifies the result against the discharge permit, reuse or supply specification.
