Pigging sends a device called a pig through a pipeline to clean it, gauge it or separate fluids. In pre-commissioning, pigs remove construction residue such as mill scale, weld spatter and sand, and gauging pigs confirm the internal diameter is free of dents and obstructions. ACTION selects bi-directional, foam and gauging pigs for each line’s diameter, bend radius and length, and is a member of the PPSA (Pigging Products and Services Association).
