The bundle is pulled from its shell with a bundle extractor, cleaned on the tube side and the shell side with high-pressure water, then reinserted. ACTION uses remote-controlled extractors rated to 45 tonnes, for bundles up to 11 m long, and automated lance systems that keep operators clear of the jet.
